Data centres are the arteries and organs of the Internet and all that runs and relies upon it, so it's mission critical to us that we select the best vendors for our needs. We don't get many chances to change
once we're committed. Before we go live within a new region, we run open public tests first to gather public feedback.
Our goal, by explaining the data locations, is to help you in selecting the best region for your needs. If you're looking at our 'Managed Servers' please reach out and this information can be provided to you
directly. We will only be explaining our 'GSR' (Game Server Regions) as they will be the ones most frequently used by our end users.
FSN has a total of 17 unique availability zones for hardware deployment and LDN has two.
FSN
Germany was an easy choice. Prior to starting URHOST we had multiple personal projects hosted with Hetzner GmbH with their ISO compliance, proven track record, green data centres and great hardware selection
we were sold on their platform as the foundation to URHOST.
Hetzner allows us to provide AMD Ryzen 9 3900 / 5950x servers in addition to being the first mainstream provider to offer Intel Core i9-12900k CPUs and with URHOST being a provider that likes to stay at the
front of technology advancements it made sense for us to utilise their fantastic infrastructure.
Being positioned in Germany, Hetzner allows us to have fantastic latency to most of Central Europe and Scandinavia and acceptable ping to the US east coast. If you'd like a test IP for the region please reach
out to us and that can be provided to you.
LDN
Our data centre at home in England is based in London, with such a wide range of service providers in the capital we had plenty of choice, VIRTUS was chosen as our provider of LDN with their commitment to
holding the data centres to world class standards, multiple availability zones
Like Hetzner, VIRTUS has some great links back to Central Europe so hosting your server in either region will result in solid performance for your players. Those with players based in the US should consider
this region with an avg 80ms ping back to Ashburn however ANYCAST backed plans should mitigate this for users in FSN.
With a smaller presence for now VIRTUS only has AMD Ryzen 9 3900 CPUs available, if demand increases we will consider adding future line ups.
